ROTARY MEDICAL AID FOR CHILDREN (ROMAC)

ROMAC is an official programme of Rotary International and strongly supported by our club.  ROMAC NZ is a multi–district committee that oversees life-saving and life-changing operations for children in the Pacific who cannot get the surgery in their own country.  All the hospital requirements, travel, and accommodation for the children to come to NZ with a family member are arranged, and they return home as soon as they are well. ROMAC relies on Rotary Club donations and fundraising to cover the costs, and the surgical teams volunteer their services.

ROMAC Objectives

  • To provide an opportunity to mend broken lives of young people from developing countries
  • To provide the best medical and surgical expertise available
  • To provide hope where there is no hope
  • To restore human dignity to human life
  • To transform a child’s life
